reflections

"Somethings were hard to achieve, but be accountable for what I could control made me more aware of the waste I was doing. The shower challenge was definitely an eye opener. I use 20 minutes just turning the shower on and mutli-tasking before getting in. Finding balance in everyday life events was a struggle, but it made me aware of areas I need to work on."

– Anacelia

"This is my third year that I participated and I can say it's better every year. My biggest wish is that people be more mindful in recycling/reusing/restoring things ! We all can do better and save our planet!"

– Liliana

"This has been a great community-giving activity! Thank you so much to all of you for sharing your efforts and thoughtful support throughout the challenge!"

– Kellie

"I think my favorite takeaway from the Ecochallenge this year has been the want vs need purchases. I have purchased so much less by just thinking it through for a minute. Do I really need this? Can I get it second-hand? Is it coming from a source I want to support? When I am done with it, what becomes of it?"

– Sally

"What a really cool event! I am really glad Mainehealth was able to create a team and participate! I feel inspired to take new approaches in my life moving forward to live more sustainably! Can't wait until next year!"

– Lacey

"This month has been refreshing and educational for myself and my family. We are collectively aware of the little changes that we make in our daily lives, that the changes add up and makes a difference. I am looking forward to continuing the habits we have formed going forward."

– Sarah

"This Ecochallenge has been a great way to focus on taking care of our earth and our community. Grateful for the experience!"

– Leah

"I did enjoy the push to learn more about wildlife in my area and the history of my area and about constructive communication. If it wasn't for this I wouldn't have learned those things."

– Michelle

"My Ecochallenge is a challenge but it a rather fun way. It makes me so aware of the water that is wasted, especially brushing my teeth. It takes time and it is possible. I want to keep this habit going. Reducing water is something on my mind."

– Ursula

"This has been a fun and easy challenge. I take a few minutes out of my day to check in and complete my daily actions, and once I got into the habit of doing it, it became a habit that I will miss doing once it is over. I may come up with a journal to carry on the habit going forward."

– Dale

"I have noted since eating more produce and drinking more Smart water that I have more energy and less discomfort! I love the way I feel! Thanks y'all!."

– Kathleen
